How Invisalign® Braces Work
Kentwood, East Grand Rapids, & Grand Rapids, MI
In Grand Rapids, Invisalign begins with a mouth assessment. Dr. Zwier assesses your teeth. He may use the following processes to create an accurate image of your mouth:
- Clay impressions or molds
The molds, pictures, and X-rays are processed digitally. Using this digitalized mouth model, Dr. Zwier is able to understand your mouth’s size and shape. The mold and sizing information allow him to determine a treatment plan with Invisalign.
A Treatment Plan
The Invisalign computer program can demonstrate teeth movement in stages. Dr. Zwier can plan out your year plan on the computer system. You can get an idea of what you can expect for your treatment with Invisalign. As your dentist, Dr. Zwier can create a plan to get your teeth into a more pleasing array. Dr. Zweir helps patients from many areas including East Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids, and Kentwood with Invisalign.
Once your aligners are created from the molds, Dr. Zwier can guide you along your individual Invisalign plan. Once every two weeks, you will wear a new aligner. Each aligner moves your teeth to new positions and into a straighter array. Wearing the aligner for around twenty hours each day provides the best results. To montior your progress, Dr. Zwier will check up on your results through repeated appointments.
Once you have completed the process, you can enjoy a straighter smile! Dr. Zwier may recommend wearing a retainer, to hold your teeth in place after the Invisalign. Once you wear this retainer for a period of time, you can be secure in your new grin. With straighter teeth you may avoid getting food stuck in cramped areas, and possibly decrease your chance of cavities. Dr. Zweir practices dentistry for people of the Kentwood, Grand Rapids, and East Grand Rapids areas! With Dr. Zweir and invisalign, a straighter smile can give you a more confident look!
